Functional Life Skills
Instructor: Diane Driggers
Life skills include many areas of a person's life.  Some are recreation and/or leisure, maintaining a home and/or personal care, and participation in a person's community. These skills help a person to transition from attending school, to graduation, and then to young adulthood roles within a person's community.  Other roles a person might assume are employment, participation in post-secondary education, maintaince of a home, acess to community sites, and experience with satisfactory personal and social relationships.  Within our classroom and community sites, we work on smaller steps that lead up to individual choices for life outcomes.
Social interactions occur everyday in a person's life, so these are important skills to practice.  We practice conversation skills with others everyday, including staying on topic, following flow of conversation
